« 01/03/2013 : Jacques Bisceglia »
« 19/10/2012 : DAVID S. WARE »
DAVID S. WARE Passed away on October 18th 2012 Matthew Shipp, pianist of its very famous quartet during 18 years: “I have many, many stories I could tell about David but the most important thing is that he went against the grain and changed jazz history by developing an original concept when people thought that there was nothing new you could do with music that came out of a free jazz aesthetic. He proved them wrong and added great beauty to the world.”

« 08/10/2012 : John Tchicai »
JOHN TCHICAI passed away on Sunday October 7th 2012 John Tchicai died last Sunday in Perpignan, France. It is very sad news, for all of us and beyond. He was for sure a great musician; he was also a very sweet person, a great character. Among a lot of great albums and performances as a leader or as a sideman with the greatest musicians (John Coltrane, to drop just one name), his important contribution to “13 Miniatures for Albert Ayler” that was released a couple of month ago on our label is definitely worth to be noticed. Maybe its last recording.

« 14/12/2009 : What is Jazz? Spanish police knows! »
Monday December 7th 2009, Siguenza Jazz Festival, Spain; LARRY OCHS SAX & DRUMMING CORE European tour last gig: a spectator called the police because he considered the music was not "jazz"; incredibly, the complaint was duly registered and will be passed on to a judge!
William Parker's statement immediately comes in mind: "How dare we spend so much valuable energy answering such questions as "What is Jazz"".
Whatever the label we put on the music, we are very pleased and proud to have released recently the latest and great LARRY OCHS SAX & DRUMMING CORE's album STONE SHIFT
